Creative Movement:  
For 2 year olds. Welcome to Dance Class! This 30-minute program is a Buddy & Me class. A parent or adult guardian dances with the budding ballerina during class.  Dancers learn ballet basics, musicality through movement songs.  Dancers DO NOT perform in the recital.  A special in class observation day will be scheduled for the end of the year.

Attire: Any clothes the dancer can move in.  Most 2 year olds prefer a leotard and tights.  Skirts are welcome.  Ballet Pink Leather or Canvas Ballet shoes (preferably without strings) are required.  No glitter skirts permitted.  Please do not purchase the pink satin bedroom slippers, they are not appropriate for dance.
Boys:  shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt.  Black leather ballet shoes
 

Preschool:  
For 3-4 year olds.  A 45 minute Ballet/Tap class that introduces the foundations of dance and stretching, as well as classroom etiquette in a fun and positive environment.  This is a structured dance class age appropriate for 3-4 year old dancers.  It is not a "gymboree" type play situation.  Recital dance will be ballet or tap. 

 Attire:  Any color leotard, ballet pink or your dancer's skin tone tights, ballet pink leather or canvas ballet shoes (we prefer the Bloch Giselle with no strings) and caramel Mary Jane tap shoes with a velcro strap. Any skirt worn must be attached to the leotard, not a separate skirt. No glitter permitted. Please do not purchase the pink satin bedroom slippers, they are not appropriate for dance.   Hair must be secured off the face in a ponytail.

Boys:  shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt.  Black leather ballet shoes and black oxford tap shoes
 

Combo:  For 5-6 year olds.  A 60 minute class that combines Ballet/Jazz/Tap techniques. Dancers progress with basic ballet technique, learn jazz fundamentals, and beginning rhythms in tap.  Recital dance will be ballet or tap.

Attire:  Any color leotard, ballet pink or your dancer's skin tone tights, ballet pink leather or canvas ballet shoes (we prefer the Bloch Giselle with no strings) and caramel Mary Jane tap shoes with a velcro strap. Any skirt worn must be attached to the leotard, not a separate skirt. Ballet
Beginner thru Advanced levels. Ballet is a classical dance form known for its grace, precision, and rigorous technique. It emphasizes posture, alignment, and fluidity, with movements often performed en pointe (on the tips of the toes) to create an ethereal quality. Rooted in European court traditions, ballet combines storytelling and music to convey emotion through elegant choreography. Its timeless appeal has made it the foundation for many other dance styles and a celebrated art form worldwide

Attire: Any color leotard, ballet wrap skirts optional. Capezio tights in your dancer's skin tone), So Danca canvas split sole ballet shoes - in your dancer’s skin tone.  Hair must be secured off the face in a tight bun.
Boys:  black men's ballet tights and a white fitted t-shirt.  Black leather ballet shoes 

 

Jazz: 
Beginner thru Advanced levels. Jazz dance is a vibrant and energetic style that combines sharp, precise movements with fluid, expressive transitions. Rooted in African American culture, it evolved alongside jazz music and incorporates elements of rhythm, syncopation, and improvisation. Known for its versatility, jazz dance includes styles ranging from Broadway and street jazz to funk and lyrical jazz. It emphasizes strong technique, dynamic performance, and individual flair, making it a popular choice in theater, film, and competitive dance.

Attire: Leotards or sports bra and jazz pants or booty shorts required for jazz. Capezio Transition tights in your dancer's skin tone to match your shoes So Dance Canvas slip-on jazz shoes in your skin tone are required for all students. Hair should be secured off face in a tight bun.
Boys:  shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt.  Black Capezio slip on jazz boots

 

Heels Jazz: 
Advanced dancers only. Teacher permission required.   Dancing in heels is a challenging and necessary skill for all professional skill for all professional dancers.  This class is designed to teach the proper way to safely dance in heels.  This class is designed to teach the proper way to safely dance in heels.   Class reinforces jazz technique, emphasizing various styles from broadway to jazz funk, while wearing heels.   

Attire: Leotards and tights/leggings/or booty shorts are required.  Any tights worn must be split sole, as dancers warm up barefoot.  Hair must be secured off the face in a tight  ponytail, long hair must be in a tight bun.

 

Contemporary:
Contemporary dance is an expressive and versatile style that blends elements of modern, ballet, and jazz techniques. It emphasizes fluid movement, emotional storytelling, and creativity, often exploring abstract or unconventional themes. Dancers use a combination of grounded movements, dynamic floor work, and improvisation to connect with the music and audience. Known for its artistic freedom, contemporary dance allows performers to push boundaries and express individuality through their movements.

Attire:   Tight fitting tank top or leotard, tight spandex dance shorts and bare legs.  Your dancer's skin tone Capezio "Pirouettes" or similar half shoe.  No loose fitting clothing is permitted.  Hair must be secured off the face in a tight  ponytail, long hair must be in a tight bun.
Boys:  shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt. Your dancer's skin tone Capezio "Pirouettes".  No loose fitting clothing is permitted.   

 

Tap:
Beginner thru Advanced levels. Tap dance is a percussive dance style where dancers use their feet, equipped with metal-tapped shoes, to create rhythmic sounds and intricate beats. Originating from a blend of African and Irish dance traditions, it emphasizes rhythm, timing, and musicality. Tap can range from fast, energetic routines to smooth, jazz-inspired sequences, allowing for both precision and improvisation. It is often performed to a variety of musical genres, including jazz, swing, and contemporary music, showcasing its versatility

Attire:  Dance clothing that the dancer can easily move in.  NO JEANS.  
Beginner level: Capezio Caramel colored Mary Jane
Teen Beg/Intermediate/Advanced levels:  Black oxford tap shoes (split sole is preferred) Long hair should be worn in a tight ponytail.

Hip Hop:  Beginner Thru Advanced levels. Hip-Hop is a relaxed, freestyle form of street dance that is set in a high-energy, fun, and fast paced environment. Dancers will incorporate their own personal rhythm with the latest dance moves. Each fun and challenging class consists of a warm up, some stretching, across the floor combinations working on style and coordination as well as a center combination

Attire:  Loose fitting dance clothes or sweats, NO JEANS.  Clean sneakers or dance sneakers that are not worn outside.  Specific shoes for recital will be given once costume has been chosen.   Long hair should be worn in a tight ponytail
